The aim of the course is to expose the students to the importance of sound within the different creative areas, specifically to the different available approaches to sound design for image. The course will provide the students with the necessary tools for hearing, listening and creating, which will ultimately allow them to create or select the soundtrack most suitable for their work.Course products:From the first class, students will be given weekly assignments, such as: recording, working exclusively on text, creating sound effects and music, as well as experimenting with different sound software and techniques. The assignments will be presented and discussed in class. The combination of practical experience and giving and receiving of critique will encourage students to develop their artistic intuition with regard to sound. In addition to the weekly assignments, Students are expected to turn-in a final project. The last three weeks of the semester will be dedicated to this final project, in which students are expected to apply everything that they have learned during the semester. The final grade will be given based on this final project and personal progress.
