The great work of art is an enigmatic entity, whose interpretation could last forever. And yet, we – as witnesses to the work of art – have the duty to give it expression in language, since by doing so we ensure its survival over time. In the course of the course, we will look at great pieces of art, classical and modern, international and local, and discuss the possible ways open for us to think them and give them expression in language. In the process of doing that, the course attendants will acquire a theoretical vocabulary that will enable them to refine their critical thinking on the work of art.
