This exhibition is part of Irregular Hexagon, an international project where six art residencies were chosen to host Colombian artists. The residency program of the JCVA invited María José Arjona and Mateo López to create an artistic intervention at the BAAD Reservoir, Bezalel. This exhibition is supported in collaboration with the JCVA residency, the Embassy of Colombia, and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design

Maria Jose Arjona (Born 1973, Bogotá) is a performance artist that lives and works in New York.  Maria’s performances utilize the body as a medium of visual communication and agent for understanding time and space, and ultimately the world. Maria has performed in Museums and art festivals around the world, including NC-ARTE Bogotá (2012); The Festival of Ideas, New Museum, New York (2011); The Ballroom Marfa, Texas (2011); MoMA, New York (2010). In 2010 she was part of the Marina Abramovic retrospective in the MoMa New-York.

Mateo Lopez (Born 1978, Bogotá) lives and works in Bogotá. Drawings and installations describe the sense of personal journeys while recreating studio-like situations where production and display of the work overlap. Among Mateo’s solo exhibitions -  Topografía Anecdótica, Galería Casas Riegner, Bogotá (2008); and Diario de Motocicleta, Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín (MDE 07), Medellín, Colombia (2007). International group exhibitions include Arte Moderna de São Paulo (2009), Moby Dick, CCA Wattis Institute, San Francisco, USA (2009); and Urgente: 41 Salón Nacional de Artistas, Cali, Colombia (2008).
