In my final project, I chose to explore whether we could choose several cultures to belong to, without offending the culture we were born into.
The project represents the idea of a hybrid, which in this case connects between the desire to belong culturally to one place, and at the same time the desire to belong to several cultures simultaneously.
The collection offers a new multiculturalism, based on oriental combinations which I was exposed to when I was an exchange student in Taiwan, and the life in the West to which I am accustomed. The connection is created in the project by compositions of prints and textiles that I created. The garments are composed from different layers, creating new relationships that reveal a new and homogeneous cultural world, one I would like to live in.
