My work consists industrial figures that were re-assembled in a traditional way. In my work I have tried to compare the ceramic industry of today with that of three centuries ago, and to subvert the existing order by changing small details. My inspiration was drawn from the history of figurines, from medieval times in Europe when figures were used as table decorations in the dessert of royal wedding feasts. By the early nineteenth century, porcelain figures had fallen from use at meals, and went into mass production as part of the popular culture. All of the emphasis that was put on fine details, richness of shapes and colors was long gone. By working carefully on the fine details , I am trying to return the industrial piece back to its original source and to express my opinion on the industry and on human nature.
