הרצאת הקולוקוויום השניה בתוכנית התואר השני בעיצוב אורבני
מועד ההרצאה, 04.11.2015 16.00-17.00, בית הנסן
In the modern era, we’ve been building streets as though they have one function–to move cars quickly. The reality is that streets can to do more than just move cars. They can move people on foot, on bikes, on transit, sometimes without hurting vehicular throughput, improving safety, health, and social trust at the same time. Streets are also more than a way to get somewhere else. Good streets are good places, too – public places where people meet, sit and socialize, conduct business, wander about, play, and more. This talk will ask what the roles of our streets are, offer some re-design examples, and stimulate an open conversation about what may be possible in the local context.
