The Department of History and Theory offers students an engaging intellectual environment for the study of Visual and Material Culture from the varied perspectives offered by historiography, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, economics and gender studies. The multiplicity of methodological and theoretical approaches that are being taught at the department, in conjunction to the development of each student's creative skills as part of her/his professional studies, offers a unique platform for the development of an independent self-reflective critical perspective, alongside the study of both historical and contemporary Visual and Material Culture.
