Polonsky Department of Industrial Design and Master's Program in Industrial Design at Bezalel and the UTokyo DLX Design Lab are inviting students for an 8-10 weeks internship in Tokyo. Successful candidates will join design research teams at UTokyo Kashiwa and Komaba campuses and participate in developing selected projects as listed here: Projects List.

Internship Period:
August - October 2025

  • A motivation letter (PDF) - a short text (300 words max) describing your “Dream Role” in a project of your choice from this list and why you’re a good fit for it.
  • Portfolio + CV - a link or PDF.
  • Contact person for recommendations (professor, tutor or supervisor).

Who are we looking for? Apply if you’re:

  • An Industrial Design Student at Bezalel (3rd year B.Des, 1st year M.Des).
  • Hardworking, curious about Design × Science collaborations, creative and tech-head.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Skilful in one or more of the following:
    - 3D CAD modelling and physical model making
    - Coding
    - Physical computing
    - Electrical engineering
    - UI/UX Design

Please indicate if you have additional skills or experience in other fields.

Key Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: Sunday, April 20th, 2025 - EOD
  • Interviews with UTokyo DLX Design Lab staff: Late April - Early May

Additional Info:

  • Travel and accommodation fees are to be covered by the interns
  • An Internship stipend (Amount TBD) will be paid by the institutions for 2-3 interns
