Date:
9.5.24

Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem invites you to a lecture by the president of Bezalel, Prof. Adi Stern.

In the lecture, Prof. Stern will talk about the design of the visual communication in 'Pavilion 2' - the permanent exhibition depicting the Holocaust at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. The pavilion displays the 'Book of Names', a monumental installation that commemorates the names of approximately 4,300,000 murdered people, while another copy of it was placed at the Yad VaShem Museum in 2023, to which the names of another 500,000 murdered people were added. The installation was designed by De Lange Studio, led by Prof. Chanan De Lange, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Industrial Design and Arch. Tal De Lange.

Prof. Adi Stern was responsible for the typographic design and even designed the "Noam" font used in the book. Together with him worked Uri Sukri and Yael Burstein, designers and lecturers at the Department of Visual Communication.
