Illustration Prizes Exhibition for 2023–2024

The Department of Visual Communication invites you to an exhibition of illustration prize winners and ceremony for certificates of excellence for the 2023–2024 academic year.

Illustration Prizes 2023–2024

An exhibition of the winning works for the academic year 2023–2024 of the Illustration Prizes is being held for the first time. The prizes include the Dorothy Kertesz Bezalel Comics Prize, the Carol Manheim Prize for Illustrated Children’s Book, and the Yossi Stern and Sela Prizes for outstanding achievements in the field of illustration. Also on exhibition are winning works from collaborations in the course of studies with the Chery Automobile Company and the Holam Association.

The collaboration with Chery Automobile Company was in framework of the course “Illustration in the Real World,” in which students were asked to propose an innovative and original illustration for the exterior of the new CHERY FX EV model electric vehicle. The car with the winning illustration will be displayed at the entrance to the campus throughout the exhibition.

The collaboration with the Holam Association was in the framework of an illustration course for beginning reading, during which students illustrated books for reading skill practice. The selected works, published as part of the “Nekudot” (Dots) series by Holam Publishing, were distributed to schools through the nation-wide “Mifras ve’ogen” (Sail and Anchor) program. Books were also donated to first-grade children injured in the war and children who were evacuated from their homes in the Gaza Envelope and the north of the country.
