Book Launch | If Walls Could Speak - My Life in Architecture

Architect Moshe Safdie
Date:
16.1.25

The School of Architecture invites the public to an event on the occasion of the launch of the memoir If Walls Could Speak – My Life in Architecture, by architect Moshe Safdie.

The event will feature Prof. Moshe Safdie and Prof. Els Verbeck, head of the Bezalel School of Architecture, in a discussion on 60 years of vision and international work in architecture.

From the book’s summary: “The principles that guide me as a human being transcend the principles that guide me as an architect. They have a profound influence on the formulation of the planning, whether it is a residential building, a library, a commercial building or a religious building. I cannot prioritize the needs of a few at the expense of the many in planning; I cannot plan in a biased or inequitable way, quality spaces for some and inferior spaces for others. There will always be differences, but there must be a reasonable balance. The aspiration and search for balance are at the foundation of architecture and urban planning.”

Seating is limited. Registration in advance is required.
