Dr. Arch. Barak Pelman
Dr. Arch. Barak Pelman is a senior lecturer at the Bezalel School of Architecture and a member of the Bezalel Art and Design Teaching Center. His research interests span three main areas: sustainable environmental design, design education and cognition, and craft sciences. He studied architecture at Tel-Aviv University (with distinction) and Helsinki University of Technology (The Wood Program) and holds a Master's Degree in Sustainable Environmental Design from the Architectural Association School of Architecture London. His Ph.D. research, which was conducted at the School of Engineering and Computer Science in collaboration with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, focuses on the role of materials and craftsmanship in architectural education.
Currently, Barak directs the Hybrid Pedagogy Lab, an innovative research initiative dedicated to rethinking craft and design pedagogies and developing state-of-the-art technologies to enhance accessibility and engagement in craft and design education.
