Mapping us an act of selection and combination – this is the starting point for a discussion of one the most important epistemological tools at our hand. We will discuss the concept of mapping both as an interpretation of reality and a tool of design and study a number of geophysical, political and social mappings, historical and contemporary, emphasizing the Israeli ones. In addition to the critical study of existing mappings we will draw outlines for alternative ones in various contexts.
