The course will focus on case studies of art exhibitions that expressed a critical and even radical position towards the field of art, in the course of more that 100 years, from the time in which Bezalel was established to this day.

We shall address the manner in which the historical role of "critical curatorship" was shaped, by validating and providing value to the artistic object, and the way in which the texts that accompany these exhibitions has developed. We shall examine the basic assumptions that have shaped the familiar format of the "critical gaze" in the field of art, in comparison to other cultural fields such as cinema, theatre, architecture and design.

In this context, we shall address the relations between "critical curatorship" and protestations concepts such as "demonstrations", "resistance", "activism", "ideology of change" and "politicism".
