"When does my bus leave? Where is the new train station? I have a birthday the day after tomorrow, how long is it? How will I know when the cake is ready? How will I know how to get to my workplace? When does the holiday end? Where is Bezalel anyway?"

When is this time, where is this place? is a hands-on practical course that aims to bring together students from Bezalel and people with mental, physical and sensory disabilities in order to allow discussion and to enable accessibility to the concepts of time and space. The encounters and work done in the course will enable learning and use of visual tools and skills within the fields of art, design and architecture to increase  independence, security, mobility and improve the daily life of people with disabilities, and create a shared meaningful experience and empowerment for all participants in the course while practising creative methods in constant dialogue.

It is a social project with a meaningful and a direct impact on a group of adults with special needs. Participation in the course requires dedication to the process, continuous and active attendance.

In addition, after the course completion, an addition of 2 credits could be acquired  as social involvement. The course is open to male and female students from all departments in years 3-4.

The course is supported by Keren Shalem Foundation. It is an opportunity to take part in a unique project that encourages the integration of people with mental, physical and sensory disabilities in art and design academic institutions. Therefore, as part of the course, the work processes and the course deliverables will be presented in a funded exhibition, website or film - as will be decided jointly by all course participants.
