This course will focus on designing solutions for educational sustainability challenges in Jerusalem's education system. It is a dual-institution, multi-disciplinary, and multi-voiced course. The course will facilitate a productive encounter between the worlds of education, creativity, and action for sustainable education and climate change. Fifteen students from the Education Department and the Climate Sustainability and Society program at the Hebrew University, along with fifteen students from various departments at Bezalel, will work on designing pedagogical solutions to challenges of local cultural change in Jerusalem for a sustainable future. Throughout the course, students will learn about sustainability, pedagogical innovation, and the inherent connection between them. Simultaneously, they will meet individuals and organizations involved in education for sustainability and learn from their approaches, activities, and challenges from their perspective. These challenges will be translated into opportunities during workshops, where the students will create multi-disciplinary responses to the challenges, aligned with multi-disciplinary literature and the field.
