Telling a story - critical essay writing in visual and material culture

What is an essay? What are its characteristics and uniqueness in visual and material culture? This course teaches the art and practice of critical essay writing in the field of visual and material design. The course will be conducted as a "read and write" workshop, allowing students to get familiarized with the history of critical essay writing and will read and analyze essays related to the criticism of culture. We will learn diverse writing and rhetorical techniques and experiment with writing essays on various subjects.
