Formation of Contemporary Photograohy

The goal of this class is to analyze the consequences and implications of a shifting moment during 1970s, when photography emerged as a central practice in the contemporary art world. Accordingly, we will explore the historical conditions and the theoretical arguments that led to this aesthetic shift. We will further look at the changes and the implications on photography as a medium after conceptual art, and the digital revolution.
