In this course, the basic theoretical principles and concepts will be studied under the contemporary discourse of digital architecture, algorithmic planning and parametric design.

The course will provide the participants with relevant tools for the practical application and representation of parametric softwares (Grasshopper, Keyshot, Ladybug, Paneling Tools, Processing).

This is in order to develop with the participants both a personal critical thinking (while understanding historical, technological and thought processes), and a practical study of methods in developing a parametric algorithmic project.

Theorists, architects and philosophers to be studied include: Mario Carpo, Branco Kolarevic, Greg Lynn Antoine Picon, Manuel DeLanda, Sanford Kwinter Schumacher Patrik. Key concepts to be studied: generative design, form and performance, programming and code, virtually, 3D printing, digital production and materials, machine learning, artificial intelligence, morphogenetic, cybernetics, animation-based design and borrowing models from nature
