Jerusalem Syndrom: The Strollers
Jerusalem syndrome is a type of mental disorder in which a person (usually a tourist or a pilgrim) located in Jerusalem is convinced that he has divine and messianic powers. The starting point for the course is Jerusalem as a hub for many tourist sites as well as interesting personas - reflecting Jerusalem's complicated identity politics. Following a theoretical introduction about the world of tourism, we will meet extraordinary Jerusalem characters who will tell and wander through their home and close surroundings. The last part of the course will include a peer learning project of creating a panoramic escape site, based on one of the encounters with the characters whom we met. The escape site based on virtual technologies and the gaming world will be built in collaboration with the artist Amir Yatziv (Department of Photography and Department of Screen-Based in the new virtual photography studio which will provide the technological infrastructure.
