The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Library and Digital Archive at Bezalel form a central cultural and academic hub serving the Academy’s community as an inspirational space for study, research, teaching and creation.

The library’s rich collection contains over 60,000 items, including books, films and other materials in the disciplines of art, architecture and design, alongside overlapping spheres of knowledge that reflect the variety of fields of study at the Academy. Among its treasures are rare books, exhibition catalogs, artist’s books and unique facsimile editions. The library’s holdings also include comprehensive collections in the areas of art and photography, with a special emphasis on Israeli artists. Recently, an array of board games for designers was added to the collection.

The library offers access to a broad collection of journals, in both print and digital formats, with an extensive database offering the full text of hundreds of journals. The integrated search system enables locating books, films and articles with ease, and remote access to resources through personal identification.

The Digital Archive manages the locating, collecting, sorting, preserving, digitizing and cataloging of images, and includes a computerized database that preserves the rich history of Bezalel. The database includes digital documentation of events, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, student works, final projects and graduate exhibitions, as well as unique collections from external sources.

The computerized database also incorporates the library of images for teaching and study purposes, which includes scanned core materials, images from books, slides and lecturers’ collections according to the curricular needs. Access to teaching and external collection databases is for authorized users only, subject to the terms of use.

The archive is open to students, academic and administrative staff, and the public. The public is invited to contact the archive team with requests, questions, or to share relevant materials for publication on the site. Use of the archive databases is subject to the terms of use and site regulations.
