Bezalel opens the semester at the new campus: The President of the Academy addresses the celebration alongside recent events in the country

On Sunday, March 19, 2023, second semester studies began with a festive and exciting moment: the completion of Bezalel's separation from Mount Scopus and the opening of studies at the new Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Campus in the center of Jerusalem.

Prof. Adi Stern, President of Bezalel, congratulated the students on the historic moment: "I hope and believe that you and I see the tremendous potential, the opportunity for change, renewal, and above all, the opportunities for you - to create and do things in a new and different way".

In addition, Prof. Stern also addressed the events taking place currently in Israel: "The space around us is storming, or rather, burning. Bezalel was founded on the foundations of human dignity, equality, pluralism, and freedom of thought, expression and creation. In our view, the possibility of realizing those values in everyday life is now directly threatened by the legislative changes. Let me remind you, democracy is not a political opinion."
