The final project by Tom Koryto Bluman, a graduate of the Department of Screen-Based Arts, animation track, has been nominated for an Oscar. His film "Friendly Fire" made it to the finalists stage in the animation student film categories.

The film tells of a soccer game that begins with a ball being kicked to a military guard post. In order to pass the time, a soccer game develops between Guy and Ali, the soldier at the guard post and a Palestinian boy from a nearby village. The game heats up when a group of soldiers and a group of Palestinian children hear the game and come to watch. The soldiers encourage Guy to make use of military equipment in order to win the game. An unequal struggle emerges and the game gets out of control, to the point of being indistinguishable from reality.
