The fundamentals of the discipline of Illustration are observation and interpretation. During the course the students will experience and practice a vast range of tools and methods to observe, translate and depict reality. The course combines practice in the classroom as well as home assignments, public critique and discussion. The class challenges develop gradually from Black and White traditional drawing skills to advanced techniques, incorporating colors and nontraditional methods of life depiction. This course establishes the basic ground for later more advanced illustration, visual interpretation, style and personal visual language for the visual communicators in general.

Introduction to body environment design במסגרת הקורס המסכם א לימודי התדמנות בשנה א' הסטודנטים יתרגלו את הפעולה הראשונית של דיגום בדים שונים על גוף. עיצוב בגד דרך פעולת דיגום חופשי, והעברתו בשלב שני לגזרה שטוחה. על ידי תרגילים שונים הסטודנטים יחזקו את יכולתם והבנתם בבניית בגד בצורה אינטואיטיבית ויצירתית תוך התחשבות בתלת הממדיות של הגוף ועד כמה אפשר לצאת ממנו. בנוסף הסטודנטים יתרגלו פיתוח מגזרת יסוד על הבובה בתלת ממד ושינוי הקווים והנפחים בדרך פיסולית ואיך להעביר את העיצוב החדש לגזרה שטוחה.

Jewelry and Accessories Studio: ‘Initial Language’ The course deals with local history in the field of metalwork and jewelry. Each of the students will choose a local creator, concept or idea on which they will focus and research the sources and the characteristics of the creations – on a cultural and material level. Initially relaying to the concept of homage and then develop a formal and material personal language in regard of the field, local and era – in a series of at least 2-3 pieces.

Basic skills for shoe development and creation The course will introduce traditional, handmade shoe-making Technics. In the workshop the student will experience the whole process of footwear development and making, from start to the finished product, working with professional tools and learning skills of pattern cut development, stitching, carving, lasting, assembling, finish and fitting. The course will focus on upper development as a 3D shell shape, to be worn. The students will experience the realization of their own creation with the challenges of the technical work.
