The book of the future

.The book of the future studio invites the student to a meaningful encounter with Visual Poetics, Storytelling and leafed and bonded formats In the studio we will examine various possibilities of Image, content and format interaction and relationships, progressing in to the development of a interesting, original and new formats. The studio welcomes students who are enthusiastic about exploration through doing, and who are willing to challenge traditional conventions regarding hierarchies of text and image, reading formats and the concept of the book as an instrument, container and an object. In The book of the future we will dismantle and construct books, we will recognize the book anatomy, it's history as well as different reading mechanisms. We will observe and reflect over diverse Visual texts, and acknowledge artists who are relevant to the courses' subject matter. Eventually the studios' mission will be to examine the role, limitations and power of the format in it's context as a central participant in the completion of the "Book of the Future" and as a partner in the construction of visual text. We will do so while constantly creating opportunities for the students to continue their personal development as visual artists and storytellers.
