Master's program in urban design and landscaping
In an era of advanced climate crisis and the decrease in natural resources in light of an accelerated development, the importance of urban landscaping is increasing exponentially.
Master's program in urban design and landscaping will offer a diverse toolbox which will award the graduates of the program the ability to handle the complexities of planning the open spaces in the Israeli and global environment, taking into account issues such as climate changes, landscape restoration, urban foresting, managing surface runoff, preventing flooding and the preservation of the variety of species.
The 21st century city cannot be understood through the constructed space alone. The significant changes the ecological, infrastructure and economy systems underwent, require a new approach to a city which is based on the broad concept of "landscape", together with the accompanying basic concepts such as networks, systems and territory. The landscape constitutes an urban, ecological and social infrastructure. The purpose of this internship track is to introduce students with the contemporary body of knowledge, and to develop a critical view of what is being done in the design and planning aspect of the open public spaces in Israel and around the world.
