Artists Speak | Yael Sloma | Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem

Artists Speak | Yael Sloma

Date:
21.6.24

“If I had to summarize the exhibition, I’d say it presents atheistic works about faith in God.”

The alumni club of the Department of Fine Arts invites you to the third session in the “Artists Speak” series.

The meeting will take place at Yael Sloma’s solo exhibition, “The Shepherd,” curated by Yoav Weinfeld, and will include a lecture by the artist followed by an open discussion. Sloma is a print and video artist and her works use popular culture to examine ways in which Western culture in general, and Israeli culture in particular, present and represent masculinity, control and oppression and replicate religious concepts and historical myths.  Sloma is an honors graduate of the Department of Fine Arts and holds a Master’s degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
