In the lecture, Professor Oded Shoseyov will present the next generation of innovative materials based on plants and nature. The lecture focuses on advanced biological materials that can replace traditional materials, while being environmentally friendly and sustainable. Prof. Shoseyov will present current research, groundbreaking developments and future uses of natural materials in various industries and provide a fascinating glimpse into how biotechnology is changing the world of materials and design.

Oded Shoseyov is a professor of protein engineering and nano-biotechnology in the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prof. Shoseyov’s original research approach is that it is possible to discover biomaterials and functional structures with unique properties in nature, and create them through biotechnological processes. Understanding the synthesis of various functional biomaterials and their production opens a window to understanding processes in nature and countless applications and the development of sustainable industrial operations for many fields such as food, agriculture, medicine, construction, transportation, electronics, space and aviation.
