Arch. Ilana Rudashevski is the winner of the Sapir Prize in the debut book category
The Sapir Prize for Literature in the Debut Books category was awarded this year to Arch. Ilana Rudashevski, a lecturer at the School of Architecture, for her book "Taska".
Rudashevski is an architect and urban planner, a lecturer at the School of Architecture at Bezalel, and a graduate of the bachelor's degree program in architecture at Bezalel.
From the reasoning of the judging committee: In her debut novel, "Taska", Ilana Rudashevski creates a unique world in its events as well as in its language, between an architectural language and the unique Hebrew of immigrants from the former Soviet Union. Through its richly nuanced portrait of one small family, the book looks with fresh and witty eyes at the beauty and pain of this place, at the immigration, the feelings of mission and pioneering, the tireless ideology, and the weight of its history.
