Kotz Magazine – The Podcast | Provocation

The second episode of “Kotz. The Podcast” presented by Dina Zilber and Dana Guez deals with the subject of provocation. 

The podcast is part of Kotz – an interdisciplinary journal bringing together thinking on democracy, Israeliness, and culture, created in collaboration with the Department of Visual Communication at Bezalel and the Rubinstein Center for Constitutional Challenges at Reichman University. In the second episode that accompanies the second issue dedicated to the theme of “Provocation,” Dina Zilber and Dana Guez host journalist and publicist Anat Saragusti, artist and creator Zeev Engelmayer, and Omer Steinmetz-Haskel from the advocacy group Bonot Alternativa, Women Building an Alternative. In the episode, the participants discuss provocations in media, politics, art and protest; in various performances in the public space and their contribution to raising awareness about the return of the hostages, the reducing of women’s presence in public spaces, the fight against inequality, violence; how to create impact as opposed to “noise”; the two sides of provocation; the relationship between provocation and activism; and the relevance of all of these to post-October 7.
