Guest Lecture | Arch. Eduardo Wachs - La Fábrica

Studio 5 at the School of Architecture invites to a guest lecture by Arch. Eduardo Wachs - 'La Fábrica'.

Arch. Eduardo Wachs, Senior Design Architect at Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura (RBTA) since 1982, will explore adaptive reuse in contemporary architectural practice through the transformative project La Fábrica.

La Fábrica is one of RBTA’s most iconic projects, originally a cement factory built in the 1920s, later transformed by Ricardo Bofill into the firm’s headquarters and his personal residence. This project exemplifies Bofill’s visionary approach to adaptive reuse, blending industrial heritage with innovative architectural design.

RBTA, founded by Ricardo Bofill (1939–2022), is renowned for its postmodernist approach, creating monumental, imaginative designs that combine architecture, urban planning, and landscape design. The firm’s work challenges traditional architectural norms, embracing unconventional shapes and dramatic forms to create spaces with a unique sense of identity.

The lecture is hosted by Cotton Architecture, a studio led by Arch. Elad Horn and Arch. Liron Braier, which focuses on rediscovering our region’s former textile industry.
