Exhibition Opening Event | Jerusalem Divan Urbanism: 100 Ideas for Dialogue

Date:
10.12.25

The Bezalel School of Architecture, Urbanthinktank_next, and the Chair of Architecture and Urban Design at ETH Zurich are pleased to invite to the exhibition opening event of Jerusalem Divan Urbanism: 100 Ideas for Dialogue, with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum Tel Aviv.

The 9th edition of the 100 Ideas exhibition is taking place in Jerusalem in 2025 – 2026, In partnership with the Bezalel School of Architecture, Urbanthinktank_next, the Chair of Architecture and Urban Design at ETH Zürich and the International Peace and Cooperation Center (IPCC) Jerusalem.

The 100 Ideas exhibition originated in the 2021 Vienna Biennale for Change and, after Shenzhen, Sarajevo, Salzburg and other locations, with the purpose to open a platform for a possible dialogue between people through architecture, urban design, humanitarian action in crisis and conflict. The archive of ideas and realized works presented in this exhibition engages with the living lab of diversity and inequality in Jerusalem and the Levant region. The 100 Ideas exhibition features spatial, social and material resourcefulness of built works, speculative proposals, and critical perspectives on the contemporary city across scales.

The 100 Ideas exhibition will be presented in two venues in Jerusalem, featuring 50 Ideas at Bezalel’s main campus, and 50 Ideas at a gallery in East Jerusalem. Together, these two locations form one space of dialogue – both conceptual and physical. This platform will bring together international examples from around the globe in dialogue with the Jerusalem case, where imagining common ground of coexistence will be at the center. The show aims to reveal the unique urban conditions of Jerusalem, while exposing the cultural forces of this day and time currently defining and shaping the everyday life of the people and their built and natural environment.

While many of us continue to grieve, to ache, and to be uprooted, this exhibition calls for a reimagining of Jerusalem and the broader region, through culture and innovative acts of imagination and creativity. Through these new perspectives, we hope to open a space of possibilities for an awakening of act through culture and humanity.
