Curators Talk | David Lewis
The Master’s Program in Fine Arts invites the public to a curator talk by David Lewis.
David Lewis is a curator and Senior Director at Hauser & Wirth, New York, a position he began in September 2024. In this role he contributes to the gallery’s program and curatorial initiatives, bringing his deep expertise in modern and contemporary art to Hauser & Wirthone of the world’s leading galleries.
He is the founder and former director of David Lewis Gallery (2013–2024), recognized for its scholarly program integrating contemporary practice with historical inquiry. Lewis holds a Ph.D. from the CUNY Graduate Center, completed in Paris, with a dissertation on Francis Picabia and modernist nihilism. His writing has appeared in Artforum, Frieze, and other international publications, and his curatorial work is informed by sustained research into modern and contemporary art history.
