Suitcase Dinner: Collaboration between the Department of Ceramics and Glass and Chef Haim Cohen

Kitchen utensils carry historical, familial and cultural narratives. The development of concept restaurants both in Israel and around the world and the emergence of competitive cooking programs together with the constant stream of Instagram photography and documentation has amplified the understanding regarding the important connection between quality food and the unique dishes used to serve it. The dining experience is more than simply food.

The students were asked to design and develop sets of kitchen utensils for prominent chefs for intimate dinners and private events, which will strengthen, connect and complete the unique and relaxed dining experience. Chef Haim Cohen served as culinary mentor, inspiring the students with his personal story.
