Safi Hefetz and Sharon Yaari have been promoted to the rank of associate professor

Prof. Safi Hefetz, head of the Industrial Design Department and Prof. Sharon Yaari, a lecturer in the photography department and the Master of Fine Arts program, have been promoted to the rank of associate professor.

Safi Hefetz, industrial designer and senior design lecturer, graduated with honors from the Department of Industrial Design at Bezalel, and holds over two decades of professional and teaching experience. He serves as head of the Industrial Design Department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem and is co-founder of the I2D company for product development and innovation. He is the winner of national and international awards and commendations for his work, including the Crate and Barrel Award, Good Design, IF, Red Dot, IDSA and the 2016 award from the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Sharon Yaari is a photographer, artist, and lecturer in the Photography Department and in the Master of Fine Arts program. He is the winner of national and international awards and commendations for his work, including the Keren Emet Award, Culture and Art - Photography, 2018; Constantine Award for Photography, Tel Aviv Museum 2010; the 2009 Creative Encouragement Award; the Gottsdiener Fund Award for Israeli Art, Tel Aviv Museum, 2005; Ministry of Culture Award in the field of plastic arts, 2000; Jeanette and George Gaffin Prize, America-Israel Cultural Foundation 2004; and the Gérard Lévy Young Artist Prize, Israel Museum 1999.
