Industrial Design (B.DES.)

The course deals with the design and development of solutions to support the human body and improve its functions, using advanced technologies.

Our human body utilizes its natural abilities for diverse functions both in everyday life and in extreme situations.

We try to maintain and improve these abilities throughout life but also experience the body's natural limitations, which are caused by illness or injury, or during the natural process of aging.

Technological research and development offer innovations and breakthroughs that allow us to overcome these limitations

and create opportunities to empower the body in a variety of situations.

the designer's role is to assimilate the technological opportunities that are relevant to the human body's environment

by designing available products that are friendly and tailored to the specific needs of the individual and society,

with an emphasis on usability, look, and a new aesthetic language.

At the same time, it is an opportunity to look ahead, anticipate and formulate possible developments, and propose future solutions to potential situations.

The activity in the course will be done on a theoretical and educational level, together with ideation, creation, and personal experience.

As a group, we will review theoretical knowledge from both the practical and technological aspects, examine projects done in the field,

and build a database of terms and examples for reference.

Based on class discussion, each student will define a personal concrete definition of a body-supporting product,

which he/she will conceptually develop, design, and present at the end of the semester.
