Lecturers: Daniel Kish, Yaniv Gluzman, Prof. Ido Bruno, Shanit Adam, Boaz Menashri

An updated course in technology studies at the Department of Industrial Design, based on the PBL (Project-Based Learning) approach.
The course encourages curiosity, initiative, and personal responsibility in in-depth technological learning, supported by close pedagogical guidance, industry visits, use of diverse information sources, and peer learning.
Throughout the year, students will develop three products that are identical in definition but differ in material, manufacturing method, and other technological characteristics.

Main topics:

  • Introduction to a variety of materials: plastics and rubber, metals, wood, textiles, fibers, and more
  • Hands-on experience with different manufacturing and finishing methods
  • A series of thematic introductory lectures
  • Development of research, planning, modeling, and hands-on production skills
  • Practice of translation between 2D and 3D design and manufacturing
  • Strengthening technological communication skills and analysis of existing products
