AI Methodologies
AI Methodologies
Second Year
Spring Semester
Instructor: Ofri Dar
The course examines the critical, ethical, and practical integration of artificial intelligence tools into industrial design processes. It accompanies Studio B, combining expert guest lectures with practice-based work that supports the development of the studio project. Students will use AI tools for research, data analysis, insight generation, and formal and visual exploration.
The course frames AI not only as a tool for image generation but as a system for processing and generating information. It considers how data quality, question formulation, sources, and context shape design outcomes, while addressing risks such as bias, uncontrolled automation, synthetic information, the gap between representation and product, and the loss of control over the design process.
