Exhibition | Photography and Identities

Date:
10.7.24

The Department of Photography invites you to the Wall Exhibition showcasing the work produced in the course, “Photography and Identities,” directed by Rona Yefman.

The discourse on identities is central, dynamic, productive, and complex, and photography plays a central role in it. Identities as a topic of discussion features in popular culture and in the works of local and international artists and photographers.

Throughout the course, which spans two semesters, students engage with contemporary discussions on the concept of identities from various perspectives and explore different identities through the medium of photography. They engage in both theoretical and practical discussions on questions of identity through the works of photographers, artists, filmmakers, and cultural critics, both local and international. They develop personal working methods to focus on identity as a driving force for creating a photographic and critical body of work from a personal perspective.
