Exhibition | Beyond

The Department of Photography invites to the group exhibition 'Beyond' – Marking 200 years since Nicéphore Niépce created the first photograph: "View from the Window at Le Gras".

Celebrating 200 years of photography, the exhibition "Beyond" presents photographs all created using pinhole cameras as a tribute to Nicéphore Niépce's first experiment. The exhibition returns to the camera obscura as a space of magic, delay, and lack of control, offering a contemporary and political perspective on photography in an era of instantaneous images and exploitative technologies. The photographs present a view beyond reality, revealing time, fissures, and prophetic aspects – a space where photography captures not only what was, but also hints of what is yet to occur.
