Reut Harari, a graduate of the Department of Industrial Design is currently presenting her final project, “SeamMold,” at the Bezalel 2024 Graduate Exhibition. Harari developed a unique method for creating soft molds from PVC sheets, into which concrete can be poured to create complex objects that vary from casting to casting. The objects produced from these casts demonstrate a contrast between softness and hardness, and between the warmth of handcraft expressed in sewing versus the industrial coldness that emanates from concrete.

In an interview with Ynet, Reut discusses how her final project grew out of a desire to engage in meaningful work following the death of her close friend Dror Alton, who fell in battle on October 7.
